Positano, Italy · Open April to October
Il San Pietro di Positano
The Amalfi hotel for people who want the view from their own terrace, not a pool deck: 57 rooms built one deep down the cliff, all facing the sea, and cooking that earns the trip on its own.

Who it suits
Honeymoons, milestone trips and couples who travel to eat.
The honest con: it sits outside Positano, so you rely on the free shuttle into town. It is open only April to October and is among the coast’s priciest, at £3,000 and more a night in summer.
