The best hotels in Courchevel on independent ratings are Cheval Blanc and Le K2 Palace, each with three MICHELIN Keys. For families, Les Airelles has the biggest set-up for children and a Forbes Five-Star rating. New this winter is Rosewood, which opened last December and now has its first full season. Eight of the nine are ski-in/ski-out; the exception, Le K2 Djola, is a short walk from the lifts in the middle of town.

Where to stay in Courchevel

Courchevel is a string of villages on one mountainside in Les 3 Vallées, the resort running from 1,100 metres up to 1,850. Courchevel's own guide lists Courchevel Village at 1,550 metres, Courchevel Moriond at 1,650, and Courchevel 1850, the highest, with Le Praz lower down.

Every one of the best hotels in Courchevel on our list is in 1850. It's the top of the resort, and eight of our nine hotels let you ski straight from the door. Within 1850, four of the nine are in the Jardin Alpin, above the centre. For bars and shops on foot, the town centre around La Croisette suits better; Le K2 Djola is the pick there.
