No one pays for a place on our shortlists or for what a review says. Here's how to request an independent review: what we ask for, what you get, and what you don't.

Six things we ask
A hosted review is requested, never bought. The terms are the same for every hotel.
- One premium suite, two nightsFor one reviewer and a guest, so we see what your best guests see.
- Four weeks' noticeRequest dates at least four weeks ahead.
- Five minutes with your general managerA short interview, for quotes.
- Our own photographsWe take professional photographs during the stay, and may use them.
- No copy approvalWe publish impartially, good and bad, including what we'd skip.
- Always disclosedEvery hosted stay says so on the review.

How it goes
Simple, and on the record
- You askSend the request below, with dates at least four weeks out.
- We visitTwo nights in the suite, as a normal guest would. The stay is disclosed.
- We publishAn honest review within a month, good and bad. No copy approval.
- You earn the stampIf you pass the five tests, the stamp and badge are yours for the year.
Hosting us is never a condition of being shortlisted. Shortlists stay on the five tests, and a visit adds the stamp, not the place.

Before you ask
Can we pay to be on a shortlist or reviewed?
No. No payment ever buys a place on a shortlist, a review or a better verdict.
Can we advertise or sponsor instead?
Yes, separately. Advertising and sponsorship are always labelled as such, sit apart from our shortlists and reviews, and never change them. Write to [email protected].
Will we see the review before it's published?
No. We publish impartially, good and bad. Every hosted stay is disclosed on the review.
Does hosting you get us on a shortlist?
No. Shortlists are chosen on our five tests. A hosted stay can add the Stayed and verified stamp to a hotel that passes them.
